Medical Ward 5 is located on the third floor of the brown block.
What is Medical Ward 5?
Medical Ward 5 is a 39 bedded medical mixed ward that deal with acute medical conditions, in particular renal and diabetic patients. Patients are admitted to this ward mainly from the Emergency Department, however there are occasions where patients are directly admitted to this ward.
Meal times
Patients have the opportunity of ordering their lunch and dinner from an established menu. A staff member will go around the patients in the morning so the order is taken. The food that will be ordered will be for the next day.
- Breakfast: 7:30am to 8:00am
- Lunch: 11:30am to 12:30pm
- Dinner: 5:30pm to 6:30pm
Visiting times
Monday to Sunday (including public holidays):
- 11:30 to 13:00 (2 visitors at any one time)
- 15:00 to 20:00 (2 visitors at any one time)
Special permits for visiting outside the established visiting hours may be given to relatives on the discretion of the Charge Nurse.

To speak to the nurses on the ward, one may call on +356 2545 6050 and +356 2545 6120. Nursing staff will not give detailed medical information over the phone to protect patients’ right to confidentiality.
