The Department of Dental Surgery can be found on Level -1 (Follow Hospital Signs) on the same floor as the Day Surgery Unit.

Sunday and Public holidays: 9:00 – 12:00hrs (Emergencies only)

Services
Dental consultations, oral surgery – by appointment and after referral by a dental surgeon.
Check-ups – by appointment
Dental Hygiene service – by appointment and after referral by a dental surgeon.
Orthodontic Consultation (Up to 16 years of age) – by appointment and after referral by a dental surgeon.
Removable and fixed orthodontics: according to need and established clinical protocols in place
Fillings and dentures – by appointment and after referral by a dental surgeon (Pink form must be presented)
Follow-up appointment: These are booked at the Department of Dental Surgery reception after your visit according to need.
Emergency service during Sundays and Public Holidays – A dental service is available from 9:00 to 12:00 noon for emergency cases ONLY. No appointment or referral is required. One does not need to call before attending for an emergency.
Eligibility
All Maltese citizens or foreigners holding a residency permit can benefit from free Dental services. Dentures and fillings will be provided, if a referred person has the Schedule llI (Pink form) form or is diabetic. Children under the age of 16 years will be provided with orthodontic treatment.
Required Documents
Please ensure that the following documents are presented:
- ID Card
- Appointment Form (if available)
- Schedule II (Pink Form) and Schedule V (Yellow Form) (if available)
- List of All Medications currently taken by the client
- Consent Form signed by the parents is required if the child is under 16 years old and is accompanied by someone other than their legal guardians.
Important Notifications
Patients over 16 should not be accompanied in the clinic.
Patients under 16years of age, over 75 years and patients with special abilities may be accompanied by ONE person.
